    SYMPOSIUM ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS (IPR)

    ► Event Note

    IQAC organised a One – day symposium on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) organised by IQAC, Dibru College Dibrugarh on 5th January, 2019. Former Vice Chancellor of Dibrugarh University Prof. Alak Kumar Buragohain and Dr. Suchibrata Goswami of Tezpur University were invited as the Resource Persons for the event.

    In his key Note Address, Prof. Buragohain spoke on ‘The Need for IPR Awareness in Higher Education Institutes’ and also delivered a resourceful lecture on ‘IPR and Traditional Knowledge’ in one of the sessions. Dr. Goswami gave an ‘Overview of IPR with special reference to Copy Right and Geographical Indicators’ in another session held during the symposium.

    		The Dibru College Annual Lecture was held on 20th September 2018. The college fortunate to have Padma Shri and Asom Ratna Prof. Jitendra Nath Goswami as the Guest Speaker on the occasion. Celebrated as the ‘Moon Man of India’, Prof. Goswami was the Chief Scientist of India’s Moon Mission Chandrayaan I and is also associated with Chandrayaan II and Mangalyaan II projects of Government of India.

    PLAYING WITH LIGHTS-A SKILL BUILDING WORKSHOP ON DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY

    IQAC, Dibru College organised a one-day Skill Building Workshop on Photography ‘Playing With Lights’ from 27th to 29th March, 2018. The Resource Persons Dr. Arijit Ghosh, Assistant Professor, St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous) Kolkata, Mr. Dhruba Jyoti Baruah, Co-Founder, CEO and Lead Trainer at Photography Learners Hub, Jorhat and Mr. Deborshee Gogoi, Assistant Professor, Digboi College spoke and demonstrated on the basics and various aspects and types of photography shots like Landscape Photography, Candid Photography, Wildlife Photography, etc. The participants were also taken on a field trip to the nearby tea gardens where Dr. Ghosh provided a hands-on training to them. There were overall forty participants in the workshop which comprised of students and alumni of the college besides students from Delhi Public School, Sibsagar, Rameshwar H.S.School, Barbaruah, R.M.R.C. Lahoal, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Dibrugarh, Sankardev Shishu Niketan, Salt  Brook Academy and N.L.B. City College, Dibrugarh.
